Dermal Fillers

Restore volume, enhance contours, and smooth deep lines with expertly placed dermal fillers.

Overview

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable gels — most commonly made from hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance in the body) — used to restore lost facial volume, smooth deep lines, and enhance features such as the lips, cheeks, and jawline.

As we age, our skin loses collagen and hyaluronic acid, leading to hollowing under the eyes, flattening of the cheeks, thinning lips, and deepening of lines around the mouth. Dermal fillers can address all of these concerns with precise, controlled placement.

Dr Lindsay Moran uses only premium dermal filler products and takes a considered, conservative approach — enhancing your natural features rather than overcorrecting.

  • Minimal downtime — most patients return to normal activities the same day

Results & Longevity

Results from dermal fillers are immediate. Depending on the product used and the area treated, results typically last between 12 and 24 months. Lips may metabolise filler faster (6–12 months), while more structural areas such as the cheeks can last longer. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved at any time using hyaluronidase.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are dermal fillers painful?

Most dermal fillers contain lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) which helps reduce discomfort during the procedure. Topical numbing cream can also be applied before treatment. Most patients find the procedure very comfortable.

How long do fillers last?

This varies depending on the area treated, the product used, and individual metabolism. Generally, lip fillers last 6–12 months, cheek fillers 12–18 months, and deeper structural areas up to 24 months.

Can fillers be reversed?

Yes — hyaluronic acid fillers (the most common type) can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Dr Moran offers this service to both her own patients and new patients.

What are the risks?

Common side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, and redness at injection sites. Rare but serious complications include vascular occlusion (blocking a blood vessel) — for this reason, it is critical to choose an experienced, medically qualified injector who knows how to recognise and treat complications.
